Commitment Issues

It seems like a lot of people have commitment issues when it comes to having bunnies as pets.

So before you get one, let us spit some facts:

1. Long Lifespan: Bunnies live for 8 to 12 years or even longer.

2. Specialized Care: Bunnies have specific dietary, housing, and healthcare needs. 80% of their diet has to be hay. Cages are too small. They need RHDV2 vaccinations.

3. Behaviors: Rabbits have unique personalities and behaviors. If you put 2 random bunnies together, they’ll fight to the death. They can box and growl and spray pee.

4. Social Animals: Bunnies are social creatures and if they’re bored, they get destructive. So you have to have a lot of time to interact with your bunny.

5. Health Expenses: High. Bunnies are considered exotic animals due to the severity and quantity of medical issues they can have. Only exotic veterinarians can see them, those veterinarians are few and far between, which drives the prices higher than cat and dog vets.

It's important that people fully know what they’re committing to, prior to getting a bunny. They’re a commitment. They’re work. But they’re worth it.
